She loves spending time with her family and getting to spoil her nephews, nieces, and her godson whenever she has the opportunity. In her alone time, she likes to fill the space with fitness boxing, dancing, taking photos, and puppy rubs.

Jordyn Short, System Security Administrator (Splunk)
While attending graduate school, Jordyn also worked as a full-time Cyber Security Analyst. Her peers had very limited exposure to the cybersecurity field, and they always presented her with questions. She found herself sharing resources with her classmates to assist with their growth. However, Jordyn was a novice who also had questions, but she had an advantage over her peers: She was surrounded by senior security professionals every day. She had direct and instant access to cybersecurity professionals. She began to realize the gap between herself and her peers so she spent days searching for online cybersecurity mentorship platforms; although she was able to identify some platforms, she noticed that none of them were free. The professionals listed as “mentors” required weekly/monthly monetary compensation. That is not a “mentor.” It’s a “consultant.” Tiffiny and Jordyn discussed the aforementioned and together the result was Cybersecurity Hangouts.
Jordyn describes herself as “an introvert with a ton of ideas.” She enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, swimming pools, funny pictures of her nephew, tacos, Security Onion, and her Dell XPS 13 currently hosting Windows 10 and ElementaryOS (Dual boot not VMWare).
