CompTIA and Chill

At Cybersecurity Hangouts, we want to enable students. We understand that certifications are valuable to employer - Some may even argue that they are more sought than traditional degree programs. We also know that taking advantage of those programs costs money.

Let us help you with our CompTIA and Chill initiative. We will be offering three college students the opportunity to study and test for CompTIA’s Security+ certification. We will pay for you to take CompTIA’s official online training (self-paced) along with the voucher to sit for the exam (a $1,000 value).

The program will be available to undergraduate and graduate students attending the University of South Florida, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Tampa in their final semester.

Application Requirements:

• Must have a GPA ranging between 4.0-3.8 (Send unofficial transcripts).

• Submit a statement of purpose answering the following questions:

  • What inspired you to pursue cybersecurity?

  • What are your career goals?

  • What have you done thus far to study independently?

• Submit a research article about a cybersecurity topic that interests you.

• Provide at least one letter of recommendation from an instructor at the university you currently attend.
